Yeeesh. I've been behind catching up with music. Normally I would still immediately listen to anything from either of these guys, but Tablo had prefaced this on social media to let everyone know it was really heavy and personal. They had recorded it well before RM's military service, but Tablo held onto it because it was so intimate/dark he was apprehensive to go through the release process with RM being away. But eventually RM asked him about it and gave him the nudge. So on release day all I read was a bit of the lyrics and made the decision to hold off because I was dealing with too much last week.

Finally hearing it for the first time. Heavy indeed. Glad they collaborated for something like this. Really beautiful and important. Feels like it would fit right in on RM's 'Mono' album. Grateful and appreciative to Tablo that he took protective care of RM's work on this. That's a good dude.

The full song is 6 1/2 minutes long. It's the length of like 3 hit title tracks these days. LOL. Giving no fucks about popular trends for his solo work. That's Namjoon for ya. Funny. The video is so beautiful. It has the colors/textures of the art he likes and the general design he chose for his studio and home. Song-wise, Oh Hyuk was involved in the production which really stands out to me. The chillest vibes.

Was really excited when this was announced. Super unexpected collab, though I think Soyoon went to j-hope's album listening party. Ha! I love this! Really like what RM adds to it and Soyoon sounds awesome as always.

Love love love. The whole 'Indigo' album is really good. Lyrics wonderful as usual from Namjoon. And Youjeen's voice is such a great addition to this one. I adored Mono, but I'd recommend giving the album a listen even if you didn't like that older album. Indigo is a lot more diverse in sound. Probably more accessible to the general public.

[MV] Balming TIger (feat. RM) - SEXY NUKIM

What a vibe. I like low/rumbly stuff like this. But especially want to note that when Namjoon works on stuff outside of BTS it stands out more to me that his vocal tone is fuckin' awesome. For some reason it takes me back to the first times hearing their stuff and RM's first solo work and being really impressed by his natural sound. I maybe get a little desensitized to it while I listen to a lot of BTS, but then in different contexts, fabulous all over again.

[MV] eAeon (feat. RM) - Don't

Highly recommend if you liked RM's 'mono' album/playlist. The Track 'badbye' on that was made with eAeon, so this is kinda returning the favor. Similar vibe to that release. I like it a lot.

The last of the sub-unit collabs for BTS's Netmarble game OST. There should be a full-group track this week with the release of the game.

Been listening to this all day. Very freakin' excited about this comeback. There have been hints of them throwing back to their older stuff for a while, which is what I've been hoping for. 'Persona' pretty literally references and samples RM's Skool Luv Affair intro from way back in 2014, animation included.

'Map of the Soul' is the name of the whole era/concept. 'Persona' is the first part (album will release on April 12th). Seems likely that 'Shadow' and 'Ego' will be the next parts. BigHit always gets elaborate with their marketing though, so who knows?!
