LOL! Great MV. Get it, doggo!

[MV] Crush - Summer Love

[MV] OVAN (feat. Piano Man) - BON VOYAGE

Unexpectedly a really pretty track!
I love simple accompaniment.

[PROMO/CF] Hyolyn X Kisum - FRUITY

All of a sudden, I really want a Lipton tea...
Nice summery bop.

[MV] IMLAY X Sik-K - Decalcomanie

Station2 #15

[MV] UP10TION - Runner

[MV] Lee Hyori (feat. Killagramz) - Seoul

So cool to have Hyori back with something so different for her. She looks fantastic and healthy and the video is gorgeous. Love the contemporary dance feel instead of the typical pop.
The only other 'off-genre' track it reminds me of is Swing, which I loved.

[MV] NC.A, Sugarbowl - Love Me

[MV] CLON - Everybody

Aww. The kid dancing in white is Lee Woojin from TheEastLight, but also did very well in Produce 101!

[MV] LambC - Enee Menee Minee Mo

[MV] Standing EGG - Cuz it's you

[MV] YunB (feat. Kid Travis, MaseWonder) - 2099

[MV] MaseWonder - MOONLIT & Malibu

MOONLIT (feat. YunB):

Malibu:

[MV] DOPE DAYS - Fetal Movement

Don't get much rap/rock nu-metal-ish stuff.

[MV] Nakjoon (feat. Changmo) - Blame

Bernard Park is going by his Korean name now. NakJoon.

[MV] SHANNON (feat. Lil Boi) - Love Don't Hurt

There's also an English version with Amber on it.
[official highlight version] and [unofficial full audio]
They both sound pretty great!

[MV] BoA - CAMO

A little warning for some strobe-light and disorienting effects.

That hook is pretty tight.
SM providing substantial budget for the queen. Wild video.
Supposedly this isn't part of an actual comeback though? No promotion. SM seems to just be calling it a 'project'? Bit of a shame.

[MV] Stellar - Archangels of the Sephiroth

Well, that's quite different. Interesting.

[MV] G.Soul (feat. Hoody) - Tequila

G.Soul left JYP and joined Jay Park's new label.
I'm hoping he'll be a little more active as a result.

[MV] Nam Taehyun (South Club) - I Got The Blues & LIAR

I Got The Blues:

LIAR:

[MV] Yoon Jong Shin - Forgetful

[MV] Apink - FIVE

Official channel link

Quintessential flowery feminine Apink.

[MV] LOOΠΔ / JinSoul - Singing in the Rain

JinSoul was first introduced as a rapper on ViVi's single. Here she is with her own release.
We're still at 7 of 12.
So far liking the vibe in this latter half of introductions more than the first half.
Kim Lip's and JinSoul's. More of a R&B/future bass feel.
The school-girl uniform seems a bit inappropriate in the context of the video.
Otherwise typical Digipedi greatness.
There's also a b-side with the two of them called 'Love Letter'. [unofficial audio]

[MV] Heize (feat. Shin Yong Jae) - You, Clouds, Rain

[MV] Heize - Don't Know You

*lose
Firework as a verb. Heh. Spelling and grammar aside, quite the quirky video.
Let that be a lesson to not abuse your teddy bear/real human person significant other!
And a wild Onew appears!

[MV] Stella Jang - Alright

[MV] Kang Min Hee (feat. Han Dong Geun) - Never Sent

Friday, June 23, 2017

[MV] JERO (feat. Beenzino) - Traffic Light

Nice feel-good groove. Beenzino recorded so much before military service. Lol.
Also enjoy the MJ/Bruno Mars-esque video. Pretty fun.

[MV] Jang Jinyoung X The Barberettes - Stranger's Love

Station2 #14

The Barberettes sound fantastic. Jinyoung is a vocal coach and adds a nice touch.

The previous Station was the western singer/songwriter Astrid Holiday's 'New Beginning', which is lovely but very much not Kpop. [Her Soundcloud]

[MV] Henry (feat. Nafla) - I'm good

Hmm. Different direction for Henry. His voice and persona are too 'pop' to make this style work for me. Feels disingenuous. Not a bad track, but very generic for the genre.

[MV] Nam Taehyun (South Club) - Dirty House

[MV] Nick & Sammy - Baby You Love Me

Official channel link

These guys have quite an active Youtube channel. Lots of covers.

[MV] BLACKPINK - AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST

This is supposedly BlackPink's first 'pink' release. 'Black' being the more hip hop, edgy stuff they debuted with. 'Pink' being more bright and pop-y. Kinda like Red Velvet with the dual concept.

[MV] MAMAMOO - Yes I Am (+ AZE GAG)

Yes I Am:

AZE GAG (this was the pre-release):

AZE GAG is mostly made of puns and 'dad jokes'. The video originally had some clips of the girls having those red dot bindi marks on their foreheads. Got some backlash, so RBW re-uploaded an edited version.

I'm not too thrilled by either release. 'Yes I Am' is kinda all over the place for me.

[MV] Seulong (feat. Beenzino) - YOU

Plus Hani being an adorable thief? Hannie and Clyde!

[MV] Skull, Tiger JK - HERE TO STAY

[MV] CLON (feat. Ailee) - BAMDEELALILA

Lol. This feels like such a throwback. Clon is a couple 1st generation guys.
Apparently this is a pre-release for a comeback.
Ailee sounds nice on it, I guess?

[MV] Ben (feat. Yo$ap) - Sweety

Thursday, June 15, 2017

[MV] T-ARA - What's my name?

This is T-ara's final song. The contracts of two members had already ended in May.
The remaining four are finishing their contracts and disbanding after this release.

[MV] GLABINGO - BONNY & In A Party

BONNY:

In A Party:

The audio is pretty shoddy on In A Party. Really should be re-uploaded...

[MV] NCT 127 - Cherry Bomb

Not feeling this in any kind of way. :/

[MV] Bolbbalgan4 X 20 Years Of Age - We Loved

Official channel link

[MV] John Park - DND (Do Not Disturb)

[OST] Girls Next Door - Deep Blue Eyes

Idol Drama Operation Team OST.
I don't know the plot exactly, but it's something like these seven idols are creating a drama and their characters, telling the story of seven struggling trainees/idols. This is a song their characters perform in the drama. Jinyoung (B1A4) produced the song.

Somi (IOI), Moonbyul (MAMAMOO), Seulgi (Red Velvet), YooA (Oh My Girl), Sujeong (Lovelyz), D.ana (Sonamoo), Kim Sohee (IBI).

[REMAKE] Shin Jung-hyeon Tribute : Various artists

CJ Cultural Foundation put together a bunch of artists for a tribute album to Shin Jung-hyeon, who is considered the Godfather of Korean rock. I have to post these two videos, because they're so rad.

Beautiful Woman:

The beautiful rivers and mountains:

[MV] Just Music collaboration - Carnival Gang

Just Music is Swings's company. They're releasing their 2nd family album. This track includes: Goretexx, Giriboy, Black Nut, Bill Stax (Vasco), Cjamm, Nochang, and Swings himself.

[MV] G-DRAGON - Untitled, 2014

I don't think anyone was expecting the lead for his EP to be a ballad!
It's actually pretty lovely (and somber).

As an aside...
Hit me kinda hard after the last few days following TOP news. I'm crying.
If you missed stuff about his hospitalization, moonROK has a good timeline.
Scroll down to Update 13 for the clearest explanation.
I've seen a few small reports right now that he is finally awake and will be able to leave the ICU soon. Better to not speculate on anything until official reports come out.
Wishing all the best to TOP during his recovery.

[MV] COSMIC GIRLS - Happy

Official channel link

[MV] Samuel Seo, Qim Isle - Mango

So weird!
Oddly enjoyable?

[MV] Car, the Garden - Kiss

[MV] NEVADA #51 - Toothless

The English is a little rough, but the sound is nice.

[DEBUT] Chung Ha (feat. Nucksal) - Why Don't You Know

Chungha's official debut is finally here kicking off the summer!
Very much in the same wheelhouse as Taeyeon's tropical house song from last year, 'Why'.
Their vocal tones are even quite similar.

I think it could use more on the low end and Nucksal is a bit unnecessary, but I dig it!

[MV] FTISLAND - Wind

Official channel link
FT Island is celebrating their 10 year anniversary!
Seems like they debuted just yesterday. Geez, time flies.

[MV] DAY6 - I Smile

Saturday, June 3, 2017

[MV] SURAN (feat. DEAN) - 1+1=0

Official channel link

Heh. Really cute video.

[MV] Hyoyeon (feat. San E) - Wannabe

Is it an edgy rap track or a 60s groovy beach bop?
The world may never know!

[MV] UV X Shindong - Marry Man

Station2 #11

I guess that's one for the comedy section...

[MV] ELRIS - We, First

Official channel link

Fairly generic, but the sound of it is good enough to make a solid debut.

[DEBUT] S.E.T - Nalari

Embedded profiles is one way to do it. Lol!

[DEBUT] G-reyish - Johnny GOGO

[MV] Lee Si Eun - Think About You
